with police and they tell us a ten-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl were in the crosswalk with their parents tonight. the parents saw the car coming in the rain. they tried to get the kids out of the way but it was too late. those kids were hit. they are in the hospital tonight with non-life- threatening. the driver stopped and is cooperated. it's been raining most of the night all over the bay area. paul deanno tells us where it's coming down if hardest right now. >> right now, still north of the golden gate, not in santa rosa but closer to san francisco is where we're seeing the steadiest rainfall. there's a line working its way through marin, south sonoma and also napa county. it has not stopped for petaluma, san rafael. we're looking at a lot of rainfall north of san francisco and oakland. lighter rainfall along 880. it's just now starting to rain in the south bay. we'll talk about how long this rain is going to last, coming up in the full forecast. >>> before all the rain, it was one for the record books. more than a million people jammed san francisco for today's par

, i will make a suggestion... i mean i am... i do find it meaningful that the city attorney reminds us that we have no legal conflict either individually or collectively. i have no obligation to the executive director, the executive director obligation is to the commission as a group and to the city and county, not personal. i can understand why we don't have staff to investigate their supervisor, that makes complete sense. so in trying to... i just want you to create a window where we didn't just rush to do something that thoughtful people were flagging for. but as we were trying to construct it, as a question of legal conflict and of our confidence to do it and our responsibility to do it, which is the other part mr. gibner raised. there is the past practice, the past example involving the deputy director, where we did seek counsel from others so that it would not be a staff colleague doing the investigation, but this body handled it. and i quite honestly can't remember if i was on at that time, and if so, whether we analyzed this, i came on in 07, probably not in time for that item.

and personnel has taken off from travis airforce base in solano county. tara moriarty joins us live to let us know some of the crucial items on board. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon. our cargo plane took off from travis airforce base about 45 minutes ago. headed down to march airforce base to pick up supplies before it heads to the east coast. let's take a look at some of the crew members who were boarding that plane earlier around 11:15. this is ac-5. filled with supplies for victims of sandy. although this was short notice for them they say they were on stand by ready to answer the call of duty. now these are pictures from march airforce base, where sick 32 tons of equipment and supplies, including utility trucks are being loaded on to those planes. in less than two hours they will move out. >> and they are moving utility equipment and personnel to upstate new york that will allow us to turn the light switch on for the east coast. we also have a bunch of medical folks on stand by ready to launch so if there is air medical evacuation or if there is folks that need medical assist

to the overnight hours. sprinkles right now in downtown san francisco of course you will need to use your windshield wipers. this is not a big rain maker at least not anymore. we are just seeing some showers on the back in. i do want to assume a neighborhood by neighborhood. we are trying out for santa rosa, rommel park. as we take it to napa and shall have passed to their however slight frame for american canyon. as we take it down to san raphael the showers are starting to push through. that are crossing the richmond san rafeal bridge over to the east bay we see moderate rainfall over concord highway 4 and 242. taking a look at oakland alameda and piedmont agreed on your screen indicate light rain. it is going to write for the rest of the morning. it will become more spotty as we head into the later hours into the afternoon we do expect drying clearing and he has some sunshine later today. storm trackers for is still showing it is raining over san francisco, daly city. >> dealing with iran for north beach. for those of you downtown is a pretty light trade a bit heavier ride over sunnyva
